Hello Little Laxer Families!
My name is Matt Coyle and this season, I will be the Head Coach for the Boys Little Laxers. I am in my 7th year as President of the Robbinsville Lacrosse Association (RLA), and 9th year as a coach in the RLA.
Our first practice is scheduled for Sunday March 29th, 10am at Blakely Park, Field #3.
Our players will need all their equipment on Sunday: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Arm Pads, Gloves, Lacrosse Stick, Athletic Cup, and Cleats. We will look to hand out uniforms that were ordered as well as practice pinnies that were purchased.
My fellow Little Laxer Coaches this season will be Jay Jakubowski and Javier Cortz who have sons on the team, and RLA Alumni Cameron Coyle (RHS Junior), and Jake Leale (RHS Junior). We will also have additional guest coaches who are RLA Alumni and older RLA players.
Coaching alongside Cameron and Jake who I coached from 3rd grade up through 8th grade here in the RLA is such a rewarding experience for me. To hear these great young men echo the lessons we taught them on the field to a new generation of Raven is a beautiful thing and what we encourage all of our players to do. Pay the gift of lacrosse forward.
You will find most if not all our communications on our team’s website:
Most of our communications will be conducted via our Little Laxer Team Page listed below or via email:
On our website you will find an updated calendar of events for our team and can also link the team’s schedule to the online calendar of your choice.
The focus of this season will be teaching the boys to love the game and to have fun. Our goal is to be relentlessly positive and help encourage the boys to work to learn the basics and know how they can work on their own to continue to improve and develop. We will teach the boys about positions and the basics of what the team is trying to accomplish during a game.
Players will learn about and play all positions. We will work on drills, challenges, and competitions which are appropriate for their age level and ability.
It is our hope that after this season, the boys will not only have enjoyed their time, but look forward to coming back (and bringing a friend) next year.
Never Quit, Never Stop! LET’S GO RAVENS!
