Gear for New Players

For our MINI LAXERS, we provide EVERYTHING you will need... a stick and a pinnie and most importantly - FUN FUN FUN!

Boys Lacrosse Gear

The following is a list of gear needed for boys lacrosse.  If the player does not have the requisite equipment, they will not be able to participate that day for safety reasons.

  • Mouth Guard
  • Helmet
  • Elbow Guards
  • Gloves
  • Chest/Shoulder Protector
  • Athletic Supporter WITH Cup
  • Cleats
  • Lacrosse Stick

GOALIES: (RLA Will provide if needed)

  • Helmet with throat guard
  • Goalie Gloves
  • Shin Pads (personal option)
  • Goalie Chest Protector
  • Padded Shorts

DEFENDERS or LONG STICK MIDDIES (Grades 5+):

  • Long Stick - 48" at the 5/6 level and 60" at the 7/8 level

Girls Lacrosse Gear

The following is a list of gear needed for girls lacrosse.  If the player does not have the requisite equipment, they will not be able to participate that day for safety reasons.

  • Mouth Guard
  • Eye Goggles
  • Cleats
  • Lacrosse Stick
  • Lacrosse Gloves for Cold Weather (Not Required but Recommended)

Where do I get lacrosse gear? Does RLA lend it out?

Does RLA Lend Equipment?  At this time, aside from Goalie Equipment, RLA does not lend equipment.  We are, however, looking into this as an option for the future.

Used Equipment:  It is vitally important that if you inherit and use equipment from another person that it is still certified.

  • Helmets: Ensure it says "MEETS NOCSAE Standard" and is within 2-3 years old.  Otherwise it may need to be re-certified.
  • Chest Pads - These MUST have the MEETS NOCSAE Standard logo on it.  Your coaches will check this DAY 1 and if it is not present, your child will not be able to participate that day.Chest Protector NOCSAE Rule Change | Warrior North America

Buying New Gear: We recommend for new lacrosse players to buy their first gear in a physical store to ensure proper fit.  From there on out, going online can be an option.  Local stores with lacrosse equipment are:
